Last month, the Senate’s Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, held a hearing on child care and PreK.

The committee chair, Senator Patty Murrey, WA was once a preschool teacher and her opening statement alone showed that we have at least one national leader that understands the situation that the early childhood industry is living in each and every day.

During this hearing, the urgency and importance of prioritizing significant and sustained investments in affordable, quality childcare and PreK was discussed.  The case was made to provide support to early childhood educators and the need for them to be compensated for their skilled, valuable, and essential work.
