Sunny Lane

Coach

Sunny Lane is the Director of Well-Being for the Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center. She has a Masters in Workforce Development from the University of Arkansas and a Masters in Consciousness Human Potential from Maharishi International University. She is partnering with the Whole Health Institute to develop a whole-health mind-body spirit wellness program for early childhood education environments - children, teachers, staff, and parents.

Sunny has been teaching meditation and yoga in Northwest Arkansas for over 15 years, having studied Vinyasa Yoga with Dr. Kausthub Desikachar, Tibetan Buddhist Meditation with Geshe Dorjee and Vipassana Meditation with Joy Fox. As a Transcendental Meditation practitioner, Sunny is researching the science and technology of consciousness through Maharishi International University. Her research focuses on the influence authentic emotions have on the development of higher states of consciousness and how they can be used as the measuring stick and map for fulfillment. She is a Chopra Certified Meditation Coach, Certified Conscious Aging Facilitator, Registered Yoga Teacher, and a Taking Charge of My Life and Health Facilitator for the Whole Health Institute.

In addition, she operates The Sunny Soul, providing on-site wellness, meditation and yoga classes for local companies and schools. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Bentonville, the Network of Executive Women, and active in the Greater Bentonville Chamber. She has been a resident of Bella Vista, Arkansas since 1999 and has three children, Jamie, Hannah, and Robbie.

Michelle Barnes

Coach

Michelle Barnes has served as the Executive Director of a large early childhood education program in Bentonville, Arkansas since 2000. She holds a degree in Business, Early Childhood Education, and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Leadership. During this time, she supported the field of early childhood education by collaborating with Arkansas State University and Department of Human Services in roles such as a consultant, trainer, and assessor. Additionally, she served the Governor’s Early Childhood Commission and several advisory boards to advance the field of early education including the Eco-Healthy Child Care National Advisory Committee, Getting Ready for Baby National Advisory Committee, Hartsook Global Advisory Council, and Arkansas’ TEACH Advisory Panel. Michelle also attended Harvard Kennedy School’s Leadership, Organizing and Action: Leading Change, an online executive program designed to learn how to organize communities that can mobilize power to make change.

Strongly committed to ensuring all children have access to high quality care and education, she began the HighQ Center to collaborate with 400 Northwest Arkansas early childhood centers by providing professional development, resources, and support services.

Finally, she led a team of experts to design and build the first healthy campus in America; eliminating six classes of chemicals from construction to classroom materials. The campus opened in spring of 2019 and will act as a model for healthy practices in early childhood education.
