The child care industry was fragile before COVID, and now we are absolutely broken. On the flip side, COVID has taught our society that child care is the foundation to building a better economy and the future for our families.
The reality is we work long hours with little down time, have consistent staff turnover, and operate under the rigid effects of state and federal regulations influencing the supply of our services, oftentimes to the financial detriment of the poor. There is no peace of mind; we feel defeated and overwhelmed. We need help and we need support. The only way we’re going to get that is by standing together and challenging our state representatives and partners at the federal and national level to ensure legislative priorities align with our needs.
Change for Early Childhood Education will transform the early childhood education system through energizing leadership, high quality connections, and advocacy for provider well-being. Standing together, we will be heard by policymakers at the local and national level and invited to the table where decisions are made to set our industry up for success.
